Jamie Rose Plum

Owner and Chef

Well hello there! I’m Jamie Rose Plum, Owner and Founder of Rose & Plum Living. From a young age, I have always loved 2 things- Music and Food- ALL types of food. Well, almost all types. My parents had a rule growing up for each of us kids that we could choose 1 item a year- on our birthday- that we didn’t want to eat for that entire year. It was our one food exemption. My mom, being an adventurous and amazing cook, made us French green peas one night. Well, come to find out, I despised them. So each year I chose to be exempt from eating those muted green mushy atrocities. As luck would have it, she never made those peas again. But because of their rule, I ended up loving and having a true appreciation for ALL food. My mom is still a phenomenal cook. In fact, she taught me most of what I know, and she is why I cook the way I do- from the heart. My family’s heritage- Cuban and Mexican on my mom’s side, and Scandinavian on my dad’s side, inspires me daily to create meals out of love, using what is around us locally. As a result of my family’s heritage, I have had the privilege of eating some of the most incredible cuisine, but more than that, I have had the opportunity to learn as a home cook, how to cook all of these amazing family recipes.

So how did RPL come about? Fast forward to 2018 when I was living in Franklin, TN, just south of Nashville (which has an insane food scene), with my husband, Jason, and our 2 awesome kiddos- June and Jackson. A friend had asked for years that I prepare their daily meals because both she and her husband’s work schedules were all over the place, and they felt that they just weren’t eating healthy food- or knew what was actually in the food they were eating from take-out restaurants. I finally caved to her pressure and low and behold, Rose & Plum Living was born. Sometimes friends know what we need more than we, ourselves do… Thank you, Paula ;)

I decided to dip my toes- so to speak- into the charcuterie board aspect of catering shortly after I started this company. It quickly took off, and I found a love and passion that I didn’t even know was there. Being able to add an artistic spin to the food we serve has allowed my creative side to soar. I have been blessed to be welcomed into so many homes, being a part of such special events, and now we are working on expanding to a brick and mortar- so that you can enjoy our charcuterie and catering on a daily basis with your friends and family.

Our catering focuses on inviting, imaginative and innovative ingredients- sheesh! That’s a tongue twister! But its true- as I always say, “Our food has to not only taste delicious but it needs to be beautiful, as well.”

My staff and I cook our food as if we are feeding our own families and friends. Many of our recipes have come from meals around the dinner table. You will often find me at the Franklin Farmers Market and Five Points Farmers Market purchasing locally grown produce and meats, driving to local farms like Red Thread Farm in Leipers Fork or Blue Moon Farm in Franklin for food order pickups and even picking up my seasonings and spice blends at Savory Spice in downtown Franklin- because even the spices I use are organic and purchased locally. This is important to me- to support local business and to know where it is that our food is coming from. If you feel the same, we’d love to cook for you and your loved ones, and to make your events and gatherings a little less stressful!

Buon Appetito!

XOXO, JR
