Life After High School: Culinary Life Skills

$645.00

July 20-24, 2026 (Ages 14-18)

Learning to cook is one of the most important life skills a young adult can take with them into college and beyond.

In this hands-on week designed specifically for teens preparing for independence, campers learn how to confidently plan meals, shop wisely, cook essential dishes, and host friends with ease. Using How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman as their guide, students build practical kitchen knowledge they can rely on for years to come.

Throughout the week, campers practice preparing everyday meals, stocking a functional pantry, budgeting groceries, cooking proteins correctly, and creating simple but impressive dishes for roommates and friends. Each student receives their own copy of the cookbook to take home as a lifelong kitchen reference.

The week concludes with a collaborative dinner experience where students prepare and share a complete meal together—celebrating their new confidence and independence.

This camp prepares teens with practical, real-world cooking skills they will rely on in college, apartments, and their first homes. Students gain confidence using knives, planning meals, shopping responsibly, and preparing balanced dishes without supervision. With their own copy of How to Cook Everything as a lifelong reference, campers leave equipped not just to feed themselves—but to cook for friends, host gatherings, and enter adulthood with greater independence and self-assurance.
